Please help me! I was transferring some files from my laptop to my external hard drive and my laptop got shut down. Since then it is repeatedly restarting. It boots up, show screen for just 3 sec and then shuts down and this process repeats. I have disconnected my external hard drive, held down the power button, already tried pressing F2, but nothing is helping. Does anybody have any helpful advice?

If you are not able to enter into BIOS setup (I assume that’s the reason for pressing F2), it doesn’t boot up without a hard drive and generic reset.

Try this:

  • Disconnect power
  • Remove battery
  • Hold down power button for 1 minute

Now check your problem is solved or not, if not then it is time for you to repair your laptop. You might need to go for the new motherboard, but the new motherboard is as expensive as a new laptop, so most of the time it is a bad idea.
