I have the Seagate 1TB backup and external hard disk. When I plug it into my laptop, the hard disk is not detected. It is showing that it is not in disk management. Under storage controller in device manager, USB Attached SCSI Mass Storage Device comes up when I connect the HDD. IT works fine on the other laptops and PC and I have another one of the same HDD that works completely fine on my system. Do you know what the solution for this issue is?

Well, you can easily try this solution below and get your issue resolved:

  • Go to the Device Manager
  • Under Controller, select the “USB Attached SCSI Mass Storage Device”
  • Right click and Select the Update Driver Software
  • Browse your computer option and pick the option listed drivers and select Mass Storage Device and click OK.

After applying these steps, you will notice that your external drive will be detected easily.
